Our Story
A Clearer Path Through Complex Transitions
Founded in 2008 by Jim Baer, CMBG began with a single conviction: middle-market companies in distress deserved a faster, higher-recovery alternative to bankruptcy. That conviction continues to shape how we approach each engagement.
CMBG Advisors is a fiduciary and strategic advisory firm guiding companies, lenders, boards, investors and legal stakeholders through financial distress, restructuring and corporate transition. We combine business judgment with operational experience to help stakeholders understand their options and move forward.
Our work spans Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors, Article 9 sales, receiverships, strategic advisory, bankruptcy support, liquidation and turnaround engagements. The process may differ, but the focus remains the same: preserve value, bring order to complexity and execute the chosen strategy with care.
